What happened

The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenant due to the tenant's failure to meet a condition specified in a previous LTB order. The tenant failed to pay $3,000 towards arrears by the due date and also failed to pay the lawful monthly rent.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective June 19, 2023. The tenant must pay the landlord $12,501.60 (less any payments made after the application was filed) and $39.45 per day in compensation starting June 9, 2023 until the tenant vacates the unit. If the tenant does not pay the full amount by June 19, 2023, the tenant will owe interest at 6% annually on the outstanding balance.
