What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenants to pay the rent they owed. The Tenants argued that the Landlord did not initially provide them a copy of the tenancy agreement and that the Landlord agreed to discount the rent throughout the tenancy.

The ruling

The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord $1,915.21, which includes rent arrears up to November 30, 2022 and the cost of the application, minus the rent deposit and interest on the deposit. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by December 22, 2023, they will start owing interest at 7% annually on the outstanding balance.
