What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after the Tenants failed to meet a condition specified in a previous order issued by the Board on April 19, 2021, which required the Tenants to pay the lawful rent of $1,862.48 on or before June 1, 2021.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated, and the Tenants must move out by July 16, 2021. The Tenants shall pay the Landlord $7,868.84, which represents the rent owing up to June 30, 2021 and the costs related to the previous application, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenants shall also pay the Landlord $61.23 per day for compensation for the use of the unit starting July 1, 2021 until the Tenants move out.
