What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Tenant did not pay the rent owed from January 1, 2021 to June 30, 2021, and the Landlord served a valid Notice of Termination. The Tenant had vacated the rental unit prior to the hearing date.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective July 16, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $2,147.49 in rent arrears and application costs, plus $34.61 per day in compensation starting July 6, 2021 until the Tenant vacates the unit. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by July 16, 2021, the Landlord may file the order with the Sheriff to enforce the eviction.
