What happened

The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenants due to their failure to meet a condition specified in a previous order issued by the Board. The tenants had failed to pay $510 towards the rent arrears by the specified deadline.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective February 19, 2022. The tenants must pay the landlord $3,319.41, which includes the remaining rent arrears, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The tenants must also pay $32.55 per day in compensation for use of the unit starting February 9, 2022 until they vacate. If the full amount is not paid by February 19, 2022, the tenants will owe interest on the outstanding balance.
