What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant because the Landlord has entered into an agreement of purchase and sale of the rental unit and the purchaser requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective January 31, 2021. The Tenant must move out by September 26, 2021 and pay the Landlord $3,795.44 in compensation for use of the unit from February 1, 2021 to September 15, 2021, plus $16.72 per day from September 16, 2021 until the Tenant moves out. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by September 26, 2021, the Tenant will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
