What happened

The Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to non-payment of rent, substantial interference, and damage to the property. The Tenant did not attend the hearing.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective November 19, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $7,935.23 in rent arrears, application costs, and compensation for use of the unit. The Tenant must also pay $1,500 for the damaged maple tree. If the Tenant pays $10,686 by November 19, 2021, the eviction order will be void and the tenancy can continue.
