What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenant to pay the rent owed. Tenant had vacated the rental unit on July 31, 2022, prior to the hearing date. Tenant failed to pay full rent for the period from April 1, 2022 to July 31, 2022.

The ruling

The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $2,186.44, which includes rent arrears up to July 31, 2022, and the cost of the application, minus the rent deposit. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by December 5, 2022, interest will start accruing at 4.00% annually on the outstanding balance from December 6, 2022.
