What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant because the Landlord intends to demolish the rental unit. The Landlord also claimed compensation for each day the Tenant remained in the unit after the termination date.

The ruling

The tenancy between the Landlord and the Tenant is terminated as of March 31, 2020. The Tenant must move out of the rental unit on or before March 31, 2020. If the Tenant does not move out by that date, the Tenant shall pay the Landlord $23.01 per day for compensation for the use of the unit from April 1, 2020 until the Tenant moves out. If the unit is not vacated by March 31, 2020, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office (Sheriff) so that the eviction may be enforced.
