What happened
The corporate Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant for non-payment of rent. A former co-tenant was removed from the application as she had moved out prior to filing. The remaining Tenant did not attend the hearing, which proceeded based solely on the Landlord's evidence. The LTB found the Tenant owed rent and issued a conditional order for eviction.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated unless the Tenant voids the order by paying the Landlord $6,486.00 by April 15, 2025, or $8,186.00 by April 21, 2025. If the order is not voided, the Tenant must move out by April 21, 2025, and pay the Landlord $5,847.91 plus daily compensation of $55.89 from April 4, 2025, until moving out.
