What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after the Tenant failed to meet the condition specified in a previous order to pay $12,383.80 in arrears, costs and January rent by January 21, 2021.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective March 1, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $11,934.76 (rent arrears less rent deposit and interest) plus $36.16 per day for use of the unit starting February 19, 2021 until the Tenant vacates. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by March 1, 2021, interest will start accruing at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
