What happened

The Landlord initially applied for eviction and arrears. However, the N4 notice provided to the Board was missing its second page. Because the Landlord could not provide a complete copy during the hearing, the application was converted to an L9 application for arrears only, meaning the tenancy would not be terminated. The Tenant disputed the amount and claimed the Landlord refused various methods of payment.

The ruling

The Tenant is ordered to pay $7,486.00 for rent arrears and filing costs by September 9, 2025. Because the application was converted to an L9, the tenancy is not terminated by this order. Interest will accrue at 4% annually if the amount is not paid on time.
