What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Tenant, a single mother with health challenges and work loss due to COVID-19, was eight months behind in rent payments in a twelve-month tenancy. The Landlord and Tenant were unable to agree on a viable payment plan.

The ruling

The Tenant owes $7,890.09 plus $45.37 per day from June 21, 2022, until move-out. The eviction is postponed until September 30, 2022, to allow the Tenant time to find alternative accommodation.
