What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants because the Landlord intends to demolish the rental unit. The Landlord also claimed compensation for each day the Tenants remained in the unit after the termination date.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated as of February 28, 2022. If the unit is not vacated by that date, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office (Sheriff) to enforce the eviction. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $19.46 per day for compensation for the use of the unit starting March 1, 2022 until the Tenant moves out.
