What happened

The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenants due to their failure to pay rent as ordered in a previous LTB order. The tenants did not meet the condition to pay the rent arrears by the due date.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective June 9, 2023. The tenants are ordered to pay the landlord $9,429.42, which includes rent arrears up to May 29, 2023, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The tenants must also pay daily compensation of $86.30 per day starting May 30, 2023 until they vacate the unit.
