What happened
The Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy because they required the rental unit for residential occupation for at least one year. During the hearing, both parties reached a consent agreement regarding the termination and compensation.
The ruling
On consent of the parties, the Landlord is ordered to pay the Tenant $5,000.00 by the move-out date of September 30, 2025. This payment includes the mandatory N12 compensation. If the payment is made, the tenancy is terminated. If the Tenant fails to vacate by the deadline, the Landlord may seek enforcement through the Sheriff starting October 1, 2025. Interest of 4% applies if the Landlord fails to pay on time.
