What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant because the Landlord requires possession of the rental unit to convert it to a non-residential use. The Landlord also claimed compensation for each day the Tenant remained in the unit after the termination date.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective December 31, 2022. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $3,354.75 for use and occupation of the unit from May 1, 2022 to November 1, 2022, less the rent deposit and interest. The Tenant must also pay $21.83 per day from November 2, 2022 until move-out. If the unit is not vacated by December 31, 2022, the Landlord may file for eviction enforcement.
