What happened
Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenants to pay the rent owed. The Tenants had vacated the rental unit on July 18, 2022, prior to the hearing date. The Landlord amended their application to an L9 application solely for arrears of rent and the filing fee.
The ruling
The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord $19,849.13, which includes rent arrears up to the move-out date and the cost of filing the application. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by November 11, 2022, they will start to owe interest at 4.00% annually on the outstanding balance from November 12, 2022.
