What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after serving a valid Notice to End Tenancy Early for Non-payment of Rent (N4 Notice), which the tenant did not void by paying the arrears.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective January 29, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $8,229 in rent arrears and compensation, plus $43.53 per day starting January 19, 2021 until the Tenant vacates. The Tenant must also pay $175 for the application filing fee. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by January 29, 2021, the Tenant will owe interest and the Landlord can file the order with the Sheriff to enforce the eviction.
