What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to the Tenant seriously impairing the safety of any person in the residential complex. The Landlord alleged the rental unit was in an unsanitary condition with piles of combustible materials, obstructing access and posing a fire hazard.

The ruling

The Tenant is ordered to maintain the rental unit in an ordinary state of cleanliness, with clear pathways, no clutter, and no obstruction of the glass sliding door, windows, or vents. The Landlord may inspect the unit every three months to ensure compliance. If the Tenant fails to meet these conditions, the Landlord may apply to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant. The Tenant is also ordered to pay the Landlord $186 for the cost of filing the application.
