What happened
The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenant due to the tenant's failure to meet a condition specified in a previous LTB order. The tenant did not pay the required amount towards rent arrears and the current month's rent by the due date.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective May 5, 2023. The tenant must pay the landlord $26,173.79 in rent arrears and application fees, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The tenant must also pay the landlord $85.48 per day in compensation for use of the unit starting April 25, 2023 until the tenant vacates.
