What happened

The Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenants because they failed to meet a condition in a previous LTB order regarding rent payments. An order was initially issued without a hearing on July 11, 2025. Tenant 1 filed a motion to set aside that order. During the hearing, Tenant 1 admitted to breaching the previous order by failing to pay June 2025 rent and agreed arrears.

The ruling

The motion to set aside the eviction order (LTB-L-054888-25) is denied. The Tenants admitted to breaching a previous payment order. However, the stay of the eviction order is extended until September 15, 2025, to allow the Tenants to move into a new unit. On September 15, 2025, the stay is lifted and the original eviction order remains unchanged.
