What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Tenant had not paid the total rent required from April 1, 2021 to January 31, 2022. The Landlord served a Notice of Termination effective August 8, 2021 due to the arrears.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective February 28, 2022, unless the Tenant voids the order by paying $4,786.00 on or before that date. The Tenant must pay $4,128.23 for rent arrears and compensation up to February 4, 2022, plus $18.90 per day starting February 5, 2022, until they move out. The Tenant must also pay $186.00 for the application filing cost. If the full amount is not paid by February 28, 2022, the Landlord may file for eviction enforcement starting March 1, 2022.
