What happened

Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenants, who were the superintendent of the rental property, because their employment as superintendent had ended. The Landlord also claimed compensation for the Tenants' continued occupancy of the unit after the termination of their employment.

The ruling

The Adjudicator found that the tenancy should be terminated as of March 31, 2022, as the Tenants' employment as superintendent had been terminated and they had not vacated the unit within the required 7 days. The Tenants were ordered to pay the Landlord $7,973.40 in compensation for use of the unit from July 17, 2021 to January 26, 2022, and $41.10 per day for use of the unit from January 27, 2022 until they move out. The Tenants were also ordered to pay the $186 application fee.
