What happened
Landlord applied for an order requiring the Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant did not pay the total rent the Tenant was required to pay for the period from August 1, 2021 to October 31, 2021. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on August 31, 2021, but the Tenant's notice to end the tenancy was found to be void.
The ruling
The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $2,097.30, which represents the amount of rent owing up to October 31, 2021 less the last month's rent deposit. The Tenant shall also pay the Landlord $201.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owing by December 26, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
