What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy of Lorraine Boldiszar because the Landlord did not consent to the assignment or sublet of the tenancy and for compensation for the use of the rental unit. The Tenant had passed away and an unknown occupant was in possession of the rental unit.
The ruling
The tenancy between the Landlord and the Tenant is terminated as of July 31, 2020. The Unauthorized Occupant must move out of the rental unit by May 23, 2021 and pay the Landlord $8,069.41, which includes compensation for use of the unit and the application filing fee. If the Unauthorized Occupant does not pay by the due date, they will owe interest and the Landlord can file the order with the Court Enforcement Office for enforcement.
