What happened
The Tenant requested a review of an eviction order issued on September 11, 2025, claiming they were unaware of the original hearing. The Landlord opposed the request, asserting that the notice of hearing was mailed and an update form was delivered to the rental unit. The Tenant also cited unemployment and lack of funds as reasons to delay the eviction stay.
The ruling
The LTB denied the Tenants' request to review the eviction order dated September 11, 2025. The Board found the Tenants were properly served with the hearing notice. However, due to the Tenant's unemployment and the fact that some payments were made, the stay of the eviction order was extended until December 31, 2025.
