What happened
Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to the Tenant's failure to comply with an Inspection Order issued by the St. Catharines Fire Department, which resulted in a substantial interference with the Landlord's and other tenants' lawful rights, interests, and privileges.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective August 10, 2021. The Tenant must move out of the rental unit on or before August 10, 2021. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $18.44 per day for compensation for the use of the unit from July 31, 2021 to the date the Tenant moves out, and $175.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owing by August 10, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
