What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to substantial interference and because the landlord has entered into an agreement of purchase and sale of the rental unit and the purchaser requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation.
The ruling
The Landlord's application is dismissed. The Tenant shall pay to the Landlord $1,319.00, which was given by the Landlord in the form of a rent abatement for the month of September 2021 in attempted satisfaction of the required compensation under s. 49.1.
