What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenants due to their failure to pay $3,000 in rent arrears by the due date specified in a previous LTB order.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective May 8, 2023, and the Tenants must vacate the rental unit by that date. The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord $7,529.87, which includes the remaining rent arrears from the previous order and new arrears, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. The Tenants will also owe the Landlord $48.03 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting April 28, 2023 until they move out.
