What happened
The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenant due to the tenant's failure to meet a condition specified in a previous LTB order. The tenant failed to pay the lawful rent on or before June 1, 2023 and also failed to pay $1,000 towards rent arrears by May 30, 2023 as required by the previous order.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective July 7, 2023. The tenant must pay the landlord $13,466.64 (less any payments made after June 5, 2023) for rent arrears and the cost of the previous application. The tenant must also pay the landlord $47.64 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting June 27, 2023 until the tenant moves out.
