What happened

The Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Landlord alleged a history of late payments dating back to 2019. The Tenant, a resident of over 20 years, disputed the consistency of lateness and contested a storage charge included in the arrears. The parties eventually agreed on the arrears amount after the Landlord deducted the disputed storage fee. The Tenant proposed a repayment plan which the Landlord rejected due to the long history of arrears.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective October 31, 2025, unless the Tenant voids the order by paying the specified amounts. The Tenant must pay $3,050.05 by August 31, 2025, or increasing amounts in subsequent months to void the eviction. If the tenancy is terminated, the Tenant owes the Landlord $924.05 plus daily compensation of $60.77 from August 22, 2025.
