What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant because the Tenant did not meet a condition specified in the order issued by the LTB on August 9, 2022 with respect to application LTB-L-004201-22. The Tenant failed to make payments as required in September 2022 and has made no payments since, vacating the rental unit in November 2022.

The ruling

The tenancy was terminated effective November 1, 2022. The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $3,788.24, representing rent owing up to November 1, 2022, less the rent deposit and interest on the deposit. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by January 22, 2023, interest will start accruing at 2.00% annually from January 23, 2023.
