What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Unauthorized Occupant and for compensation for the use of the rental unit. The Landlord discovered that the Tenant had vacated the unit and the Unauthorized Occupant, Mechelle Meech, was still occupying the unit without a valid tenancy agreement.

The ruling

The tenancy between the Landlord and Tenant is terminated as of January 9, 2022. The Unauthorized Occupant shall move out of the rental unit on or before January 9, 2022 and pay the Landlord $10,497.36, which includes compensation for use of the unit and the application filing fee. If the Unauthorized Occupant does not pay the full amount by January 9, 2022, they will owe interest at 2% on the outstanding balance.
