What happened

Landlord applied for an order to increase the rent by more than the guideline due to capital expenditures. The application was resolved by written hearing, and no submissions were received from the Tenants.

The ruling

The Landlord may increase the rents charged by 1.44% for the units set out in Schedule 1, within the time period of September 1, 2019 to August 31, 2020. The increase may be taken in addition to the annual guideline. If the same Tenant remains in the unit after the expiration of the weighted useful life for capital expenditures, the rent will be reduced.
