What happened
The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenant due to the tenant's failure to meet the conditions specified in a previous order issued by the Board. The tenant did not pay $500 by June 15, 2021 or the lawful rent for July by July 1, 2021 as required by the previous order.
The ruling
The previous order SOL-17372-20 is cancelled. The tenancy between the landlord and the tenant is terminated, and the tenant must move out by July 31, 2021. The tenant must pay the landlord $29,498.81 for rent arrears and the costs related to the previous application, plus $55.89 per day for compensation for the use of the unit starting July 21, 2021 until the tenant moves out. If the tenant does not pay the full amount by July 31, 2021, they will start to owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
