What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent as per the previous order issued by the LTB on April 14, 2022.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective January 24, 2023. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $20,852.32, which includes rent arrears up to January 13, 2023, less the rent deposit and interest on the deposit. If the unit is not vacated by January 24, 2023, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office for enforcement. The Tenant will also owe $46.85 per day in compensation for use of the unit starting January 14, 2023 until the Tenant moves out.
