What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy because the Tenant abandoned the unit. The Tenant owed approximately $8,000 in rent arrears and had not used the fob to access the rental unit since February 4, 2021.
The ruling
The tenancy between the Landlord and Tenant is terminated. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $186 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owing by November 23, 2021, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
