What happened

Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant because the Landlords require possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation. The Landlords also claimed compensation for each day the Tenant remained in the unit after the termination date.

The ruling

The Landlords' application is dismissed as they did not comply with the mandatory requirements under the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006 by failing to provide the Tenant with the one-month compensation required.
