What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants because the Landlord requires possession of the rental unit for residential occupation by his parents. The Landlord also claimed compensation for each day the Tenants remained in the unit after the termination date.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective April 30, 2022, as the Landlord in good faith requires possession of the rental unit for residential occupation by his parents for at least one year. The Tenants must pay $9,270.75 for use of the unit from October 1, 2021 to February 18, 2022, plus $65.75 per day until they vacate. The Landlord may file for eviction enforcement starting May 1, 2022, if the unit is not vacated.
