What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Tenant admitted to not paying rent and using the money for other expenses.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective December 28, 2020. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $22,991.08 in rent arrears and compensation, plus $175 in application costs, and $65.75 per day starting December 15, 2020 until the Tenant vacates the unit. If the Tenant pays $24,175 on or before December 28, 2020, the eviction order will be void and the tenancy will continue.
