What happened
Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to non-payment of rent and substantial interference with the reasonable enjoyment of the landlord. The Tenants were represented by one of the Tenants, C.M., at the hearing.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective January 3, 2017, unless the Tenants pay the outstanding amount of $2,570 by December 31, 2016 or $3,770 by January 3, 2017 to void the eviction order and continue the tenancy. The Tenants must also pay the Landlord $714.21 for rent arrears and compensation, as well as $39.45 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting December 20, 2016 until they move out. The L2 application for substantial interference is dismissed.
