What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Tenant was a superintendent who was terminated from employment on September 24, 2020 but had not vacated the premises.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated, and the Tenant must vacate the rental unit by October 10, 2021. If the Tenant does not vacate by that date, they must pay the Landlord $52.60 per day in compensation until they move out. The Tenant must also pay the Landlord $186 for the application filing fee. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount owed by October 10, 2021, they will start accruing interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
