What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on May 31, 2022 and did not pay the total rent they were required to pay for the period from December 2021 to May 2022.

The ruling

The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $3,365, which includes rent arrears up to May 31, 2022 and the cost of the application, minus the last month's rent deposit and interest owing on the rent deposit. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by November 15, 2022, they will start to owe interest at 4% annually on the outstanding balance.
