What happened

Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenants due to substantial interference and undue damage to the rental unit. The Landlord served the Tenants with an N5 notice on December 9, 2019.

The ruling

The tenancy will not be terminated. The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord $1,341.31 for the cost of cleaning the oil slick and $175.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by December 31, 2020, they will start to owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
