What happened
Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to allegations of wilful damage to the rental unit and serious impairment of safety. The Landlord alleged that the Tenant or someone permitted in the unit tampered with the furnace, removed copper piping and wiring, and removed carbon monoxide detectors.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated, and the Tenant must vacate the rental unit by June 21, 2021. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $201 for the application filing fee. If the Tenant does not pay by June 21, 2021, they will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
