What happened
Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenants due to non-payment of rent and alleged illegal activity. Tenant Kayla Anderson also applied for an order determining that the Landlord harassed, obstructed, coerced, threatened or interfered with her.
The ruling
The Landlord's L1 and L2 applications were dismissed. The Tenants were awarded a rent abatement of $449.75, general damages of $2,000, and the cost of filing the application ($48). The Landlord was also ordered to pay an administrative fine of $1,000 to the LTB.
