What happened
Landlords applied for an order requiring Tenants to pay the rent they owed, as well as administration charges related to NSF cheques. The Tenants had vacated the rental unit on July 31, 2020, prior to the hearing date.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective September 30, 2020. The Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlords $9,132.00, which represents the rent owing up to September 30, 2020, less the last month's rent deposit. The Tenants are also ordered to pay $100.00 for NSF cheque administration charges and $190.00 for the cost of filing the application. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by January 19, 2021, they will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
