What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent and because the Landlord requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on or about August 21, 2021, prior to the hearing date.

The ruling

The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $14,400 in rent arrears and $201 for the filing fee. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by October 1, 2021, the Tenant will owe simple interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance starting October 2, 2021.
