What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent and persistent late payment of rent. The Tenants have not paid rent on time and in full since August 2020, and owe rent arrears for the period from April 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021.
The ruling
The tenancy was terminated effective September 30, 2021 due to the Tenants' persistent late payment of rent. The Tenants must move out by January 16, 2022 and pay the Landlord $2,713.59, which includes rent arrears, daily compensation, and the application filing fee, less the rent deposit and interest owed on the deposit. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by January 16, 2022, they will owe interest on the outstanding balance.
